Immersive Interactive Classroom for Professional Training in the Basque Country

DigaliX has collaborated with FP Euskadi and Tknika, center for research and applied innovation in professional training in the Basque Country, in the design and assembly of an Immersive Interactive Classroom at the Miguel Altuna center in Bergara, as part of the project to create intelligent centers for professional training.
Demonstrations were made during the International Professional Training Congress in Euskadi held on November 10 and 11 in San Sebastián, at the Kursaal Congress Center, under the slogan Professional Training facing the era of Humanity, Technology, and Intelligence. The General Directorates of Professional Training of the 17 Autonomous Communities and about 40 international representatives visited the center.
The Immersive Interactive Classroom designed by DigaliX Solutions at the Miguel Altuna center is used to promote collaborative learning based on challenges based on the ETHAZI model, developed by Tknika and applied in both public and subsidized professional training centers in the Basque Country.
It is part of the shared innovation strategy that will allow the establishment of technological and pedagogical work groups based on the use of new interaction, virtualization, and immersive technologies.
Used technology:
- Professional immersive large format laser projection, with blending system.
- XTable Interactive Tables for multi-user work, 4 students simultaneously per device.
- Management software that allows interaction with shared and synchronized resources by the Cloud.
- Sending resources between tables and to projection walls.
- Dynamics in the classroom and connection with other classrooms through the Internet.
- Sensorization of the walls with IR technology to allow interaction.
The Vice-Ministry of Professional Training of the Basque Government is working so that by 2024 there will be 70 smart centers in the Basque Country that will include interactive classrooms, with the aim of converting Professional Training into Intelligent Professional Training that responds to present, emerging, and future environments.
