Interactive technology in the Carmen Thyssen Museum (Andorra)
A new museum of Carmen Thyssen’s collection has opened it doors in Andorra, featuring technology as a resource to bring the artworks closer to the visitor. This commitment to the arts has been supported by her art director, Guillermo Cervera, and the minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Andorra, Olga Gelabert.
DigaliX has carried out the digitalization of the exhibition. They already had previous experience regarding applications for museums.
There are four interactive screens to make the exhibition more teaching and participative. In addition to delving into every piece of art with further information, they allow you to watch the paintings in detail and to discover nuances that otherwise could pass unnoticed.
One of the devices has special features: an interactive XTable that can regulate its inclination until being put upright. The wheels attached to it make it possible to move the XTable through the different areas of the museum. It is ideal for the educational workshops offered by the EduCarmenThyssen space.
The Carmen Thyssen Museum of Andorra is located on the ground- floor of the former Hotel Valira, in Escaldes-Engordany.
